Virginia Medicaid: Spring 2021 Substance Use Disorder Training and Technical Assistance Webinars

The SUPPORT Act Grant team is pleased to announce its Spring 2021 webinar series. One main area of focus for these webinars is the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) substance use disorder (SUD) Treatment Assessment dimensions. These dimensions are designed to guide the assessment process and ensure that each client receives the most appropriate, individualized treatment. A clear understanding of these treatment assessment dimensions is critical for providers, Managed Care Organizations and other professionals in order to operationalize this content in practice with Medicaid members who have a substance use disorder. Please see below for information on the upcoming webinar topics, schedule of events and registration links.  Webinar slide decks are available on the DMAS SUPPORT Act grant webpage https://www.dmas.virginia.gov/#/artssupport

PLEASE NOTE that the goal of these training sessions is to help raise providers’ awareness and understanding around implementing ASAM Treatment Assessment dimensions. These trainings are not designed as a substitute for official ASAM training, nor are they to serve as a substitute for any ASAM training that is required by any local, state, or federal regulatory agency or certifying organization. These training sessions are not sponsored or endorsed by ASAM.

Automated closed captioning (CC) is available for these webinars with real-time captions that will run simultaneously with the presentation. The streaming text is available through Hamilton Relay Remote Conference Captioning (RCC). We recommend opening a second window with the Hamilton Relay link provided and resizing it in such a fashion that it appears below the webinar screen. This allows the viewer to see both the webinar and its associated text/graphics while also being able to comfortably view the real-time captions. The complete webinar schedule along with the closed captioning links are available on the DMAS SUPPORT Act Grant Webpage.
